Gratitude At Semester’s END

We are officially done with the Spring FOREST Semester! Wow, it went fast! It was not too long ago that we were boiling down maple syrup and still feeling the nip of frost in the air, yet today we were sipping on Lilac Lemonade.

The Spring semester has been full of great experiences, great camp crafts, lots of naturalist discoveries, and our epic campout! This group has been full of energy and wonder.

Today we gave a little love to the land, pulling out some invasive plants. We used them to create boats. Yes, you read that right! Each team wrapped up an enormous bundle of invasive plants in black plastic, bound it with rope, and competed to transport their teams across the small pond in a race.

I simply can’t overstate the level of excitement during this ridiculously fun event! People were slipping off the boats, boats floated away and were rescued in daring feats. The aptly named Titanic took on water and sunk, only to live to sail again after a salvage operation!

In the afternoon, we reflected on our time together, noting what we could take home from this experience and apply to our lives. We spent time honoring each person in the group by sharing things we appreciate about them.

With great gratitude for our time together,
