This is a paid position for individuals who seek to deepen or expand their nature connection, skills, and knowledge base, with the goal of helping young people and adults to expand theirs. You will receive coaching, training, and experience in outdoor leadership skills; techniques for living in the wilderness; naturalist and outdoor survival skills; and local flora and fauna. Interns work closely with experienced Flying Deer colleagues and nature experts, planning and debriefing each program.
Responsibilities include supervising youth in organized nature experiences and working collaboratively with colleagues to plan programs and activities. One key responsibility for this position will be helping Flying Deer administrators recruit students and other interns towards the aim of diversifying our program.
