Our goal was to open up the forest-edge trail system that encircles the vast, rich wetland at the heart of this varied landscape. The trail circuit was completely choked by invasive honeysuckle -- until our 50 volunteers (about a third of them kids and youth) arrived on site wielding loppers, shovels, saws, and rakes! The trail teams cleared a path while the stream team opened a beautiful children's campsite alongside the crystal clear stream that wends through the wetland. Check out the photos below!
The event marked a new day of community-driven land stewardship for Flying Deer! A big thank you to all the friends who showed up! Stay tuned for future happenings at the new property!
Arrival is via Route 9 only; please do not approach the property via Route 295.
